Who it's for

Forget the fish or even the fishing rod. We teach you to build your own rod.

Our program is based on fundamental ways the human brain works. We then teach you how to tailor your system to your unique brain and unique needs. Giving you the tools to take control is what self-regulated learning is all about.

Click the tabs below to learn more about how our programs work for each topic.

Our program is ideal for students working through structured curriculums. The minimum age we recommend is 13 years old. There is no maximum age.

Due to the nature of self-regulated higher-order learning (our core principle), improvements are always relative to your current level. Whether you're a PhD candidate or in junior high school, you'll learn how you can take your current skills and upgrade them.

Think of it like getting a map to achieve your best possible performance. No matter where you are on the journey, you'll be able to see your next steps.

High-achieving learners can expect to improve efficiency and consistency while reducing the effort, time, or stress needed to reach the same great results (or even better).

Learners who are struggling can expect to translate time and effort into results more predictably and consistently. On top of increasing your results and performance, you can expect improvements in confidence, enjoyment, and ease of learning.

We have thousands of professionals using our program to upskill, recertify, career switch, or simply keep up with a developing industry. Our program is best suited for professional learners in structured learning contexts with the opportunity to "study". Examples include learning in the setting of:

  • Courses and training
  • Certification
  • Intensive learning in new domains from videos, books, and other dense resources

Our upcoming professional learning program will be more tailored for "on-the-job" learning needs in unstructured learning environments, such as in meetings, project briefs, or situations where dedicated "studying" is not possible.

We have thousands of learners using our methods for many disciplines. Unlike most approaches to learning, we teach transferrable cognitive skills to help you process any new information in a way that is optimised for better memory, depth of understanding, and nuanced application and retrieval. Our techniques are specific, highly-practical, and easily adaptable.

Therefore, our system is ideally suited for contexts with a large amount of declarative knowledge (facts and concepts). Examples of subjects with excellent fit include:

  • All sciences
  • Medicine (especially physiology, pathology, and learning in clinical settings)
  • Theoretical mathematics
  • Philosophy
  • History
  • Economics
  • Politics
  • Music theory
  • Law and legal studies

The following subjects and disciplines are a good fit. You can expect a noticeable benefit. However, some techniques we teach may be unnecessary. Limitations are stated next to each subject in brackets. Examples of subjects with good fit include:

  • Anatomy and microbiology (a few encoding techniques are limited due to a high requirement for rote memorisation)
  • Foreign languages (a few encoding techniques are limited due to a high requirement for rote memorisation)
  • English literature (techniques on essay writing are not extensively covered)
  • Coding and software development (some techniques are unnecessary or overkill and can be excluded from the final system)
  • Applied mathematics (some techniques are unnecessary or overkill and can be excluded from the final system)

The following subjects and disciplines are poor fit. Our methods are either mostly unnecessary or highly limited in benefit as they have low requirements for declarative knowledge. We do not recommend using our methods for the following subjects:

  • Sports (not including sports science)
  • Cooking
  • Music and dance performance
  • Trades such as carpentry, plumbing, etc. (not including knowledge-based certification exams)
  • Clinical procedural skills (including surgical skills)
  • Fine arts (not including art history or art theory)
  • Performing arts (e.g. acting and theatre)

It is difficult to comment on the suitability of every possible curriculum as it depends on the nature of the subject and the assessment style.

Generally, our methods are suitable for all mainstream and common methods of teaching and assessment used in secondary and tertiary education. Professional examinations that are similar are also suitable.

For reference, we have thousands of learners using our methods successfully across the following curriculums and examinations:

  • IB
  • NCEA
  • AP
  • GCE
  • CCSS
  • All Australian secondary school curriculums (HSC, WACE, SACE, VCE, QCE)
  • SAT
  • MCAT
  • UPSC
  • NEET
  • USMLE (all steps)
  • Chartered accountancy examinations
  • Chartered financial analyst examinations
  • Medical specialty training program examinations

While our course is not fully optimised at this time for neurodiverse individuals, many of our neurodiverse students have found success by using the course and following additional guidelines included in the program.

ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia and processing difficulties

Our methods are based on core learning processes of the human brain which do not seem to be as dominantly affected by common learning disabilities such as ASD, ADHD and dyslexia. This is unlike most conventional learning techniques, which heavily rely on processes that those with ADHD, ASD and dyslexia are most impacted by.

We have observed that correct utilisation of the techniques helps to empower learners to minimise the impact of learning limitations that are posed by neurodiverse conditions while fully utilising the strengths that neurodiverse individuals have. These strengths are traditionally underutilised in conventional education systems.

For neurodiverse individuals considering our program, please read our article here to help guide your decision. If your question is not answered, please contact our support team.
